Jean-Marie Verrier is the Head of Power, Renewables & Transition, Project Finance Australia at Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation (SMBC). With over 28 years of experience in project finance, Jean-Marie has led the financing of a diverse range of assets, including thermal power plants, wind and solar farms, batteries, transmission lines, smart meters, LNG projects, gas pipelines, underground gas storage, and more. He spent 20 years in Sydney covering these sectors in Australia, and 8 years in New York, covering North and South America.

Before his current position, Jean-Marie held several senior roles, including Executive Director of Power & Renewables and Credit Officer of SMBC, and Project Finance Director at two European banks. His deep knowledge of project finance, combined with his strategic insights, make him a key figure in supporting Australia’s transition to a sustainable energy future.
