Nicole Walton is a seasoned professional with over 25 years’ experience across a range of industries and organisations both overseas and within Australia. Nicole has held executive positions in corporate strategy and communications and engagement in the Western Australian public and private sector. Her skillset includes strategy development, stakeholder engagement, corporate communications, ministerial and government liaison, and issues management. Nicole is an owner within Aurecon and currently leads Aurecon’s team of experienced communications, engagement and change professionals across Australia.

One factor is emerging as a non-negotiable before connecting to the grid: the provision of social value. Western Australia is in a unique position to be able to aggregate the engagement structures enabling social value outcomes being applied on renewable energy projects across Australia that are working well, and adapt those that would suit better the local context.
