Enabling Western Australia’s energy transition: Synergy’s progress on DER integration
Presentation summary
Over the past year, Synergy has made significant progress in supporting the integration of Distributed Energy Resources (DER) across Western Australia’s energy system. This presentation will provide a high-level update to industry on our continued role in enabling a smarter, more customer focused energy future. Synergy remains a key delivery partner in the WA Government’s DER Roadmap, supporting the increasing uptake of rooftop solar, household batteries and electric vehicles. We are focused on enabling customer participation, improving system reliability and supporting the broader energy transition. A significant milestone has been Synergy’s role in supporting the launch of the WA Residential Battery Scheme. This was made possible through our implementation and enhancement of CSIP-Aus, a national protocol that allows secure and scalable coordination of household batteries, helping unlock greater value for customers and the energy system. This session will provide an overview of Synergy’s progress in DER enablement and the adoption of CSIP-Aus, our role in shaping national standards to support future market participation and our continued collaboration with government and industry partners. Attendees will gain insight into how Synergy is supporting the transformation of Western Australia’s energy system through innovation and industry partnerships, while ensuring customers remain at the centre of the transition. Further updates and opportunities for engagement will be shared in the coming months.
