Presentation title
Offshore Wind Challenge in Western Australia
Presentation summary
The Bunbury Offshore Wind Zone in Western Australia presents a distinctive set of oceanographic and environmental conditions that differ from those encountered in established offshore wind markets such as Europe and Taiwan. This presentation explores the unique challenges these conditions pose for offshore wind construction and operations, including considerations related to wave dynamics, seabed characteristics, and weather variability. Drawing on lessons learned from global offshore construction projects, we will examine strategies for adapting proven methodologies to local conditions, mitigating risks, and optimizing project delivery. Attendees will gain insights into offshore wind construction and operation in the WA context.
