Speaker bio
I am an energy market executive with over 15 years’ experience. I've led multi-disciplinary teams in investment (corporate development, greenfield development, M&A), strategy, commercial, commercial law and corporate finance.
As the CEO and Director of EDF Australia Pacific, I am accountable for delivering EDF's investment strategy for the Australian market. I lead a very talented team of individuals that are working tirelessly to develop greenfield and brownfield opportunities across clean infrastructure types and fuels (pumped hydro, batteries, other storage, transmission, behind the meter decarbonisation solutions, clean fuel developments).
Prior to this I helped establish Jemena’s electricity markets team and developed Jemena’s renewables investment roadmap where I managed a multi-million dollar yearly budget to originate, develop and gate for investment over $5Billion of opportunities.
I have an in-depth understanding of energy and related markets, across fuels (gas, hydrogen, renewables) and infrastructure types (including generation, transmission and distribution). I understand the trends shaping these markets and the opportunities and challenges faced by stakeholders. Having held roles across disciplines, I have a uniquely diverse skill set and insight into how infrastructure is developed, delivered, owned and invested in, operated and maintained safely, regulated, commercialised and consumed.
I'm an experienced stakeholder manager who has developed and maintained relationships with a range of energy market stakeholders (asset owners, developers, service providers, government agencies, State/Federal departments, regulators, policy makers, debt/equity investors and consultants).
I am a C-Suite people leader who leads, mentors and builds cross-functional teams in results-driven environments. I'm passionate about empowering teams, fostering their development and creating fun environments to prosper in. I'm recognised amongst my peers as a trusted, critical thinking, agile leader who celebrates openness, doesn’t leave questions unasked and challenges the status-quo.
