Wind lead APAC

Worley
Speaker biography
Tom is Worley’s wind lead for APAC both onshore and offshore, who’s focus is to expand Worley’s track record in providing client services from early-stage development into operations. His aim is leveraging the digital engineering, project controls, and advisory capabilities of Worley globally to reduce time and cost across DevEx, CapEx and Opex.
Since 2002, he has developed and constructed offshore wind projects in; Irish Sea, North Sea, Baltic Sea, German Bight, Thames Estuary and English Channel by ensuring the supply chain is organised to provide solutions and provide answers to emerging problems across the all-lifecycle stage. He’s been at the forefront of the development of new technology and methodology for installing components offshore, focusing on getting the right tools for the job (from bolting equipment to vessel selection).
As the client and an advisor, he has introduced collaborative risk sharing contract models across onshore and offshore construction with “best for project” mindset. These agreements were put into practice for the installation and logistics scope managing (in parallel) project teams across UK, Sweden, and Germany as well as NSW using NEC4 contracts.
Tom’s career highlight was to lead the strategy, procurement, mobilisation, deployment and daily operations of multiple heavy lift installation and support vessels during offshore construction at Robin Rigg (GB), Karehanm (SE), Humber Gateway (GB), Amrumbank West (DE), Rampion (GB) & Arkona (DE).
